The PTA formed this committee, previously called the Political Action Committee (or PAC), to address various political issues affecting the school. The committee has focused for the past couple of years on the growing problem of overcrowding in our school due to the influx of residential development within our catchment, and overcrowding in our community school district, Manhattan, and the city as a whole. The committee's goals are to continue to explore all possible options, and work with community leaders, the Community Education Council for District 3, representatives of other schools, and officials within the Department of Education to continue to advocate for solutions to this problem that more and more of the city's public schools are facing.
