Arrival and Dismissal Procedures for PS 199
 

Dear Families,

We ask that you adhere to the following arrival procedures to maintain an orderly and safe environment for our wonderful kids.


Outdoor Arrival:

You can help us get our students to their classes quickly and safely by:

 

  • Getting in all your hugs and kisses before the siren blows!!!
  • Encouraging your child to line up at the sound of the siren
  • Standing away from class line- ups
  • Saving long chats with your child’s teacher for a more appropriate setting

Please, please be kind and do not cut-off classes as they arrive and leave our schoolyard.


Indoor Arrival:

If it’s pouring or snowing heavily then the following procedures are in effect:

 

Kindergarten and Grade 1 drop-off will be in the cafeteria:

  • You must leave the cafeteria immediately after your child is seated at their designated tables
  • Do not congregate at exit areas to talk to other parents
  • Late children will be escorted by staff member to his/her classroom
  2ND, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade drop-off will be in the auditorium

 

  • Only children are permitted to enter the auditorium
  • Do not congregate at exit areas to talk to other parents

Special Note:

In the rare occasion of inclement weather classes will be dismissed by grade according to the following schedule.  Families are to wait in the front lobby near the School Safety officer until each grade arrives.

  • 4th an 5th Grade will be dismissed at 2:40
  • 2nd and 3rd Grade will be dismissed at 2:45
  • 1st Grade will be dismissed at 2:50
  • Kindergarten will be dismissed at 2:55
