Let’s plant kindness, appreciation, and love—one bloom at a time. Kickoff this Mother's Day weekend with a beautiful morning in our school garden, where love, appreciation, and nature come together! Warm up with refreshing tea before plunging into our hands-on planting activities. Then stop by our OrigamiUSA teaching table (10am - 11am) to craft heartfelt Mother's Day mementos. We know Mother’s Day means many different things to different people. However it fits into your life, we are sending good wishes. This is a chance for our community to honor mothers everywhere by planting flowers, herbs, and greenery that symbolize growth, love, and gratitude. This year, we will plant impatiens, coleus, kale, cilantro, radish, and carrots. Thank you to City Gardens Club of New York City for their generous grant supporting our garden.
This is a free PTA event and open to friends and families of the PS199 community. RSVP and drop in anytime. Stay as long as you wish before closing time. Remember to dress accordingly for gardening. Bring garden gloves if you have them. Gardening tools will be provided by the PTA - or bring your own!
This is not a drop-off event. All children must be supervised by an adult. Please review Garden Policies before your visit. In case of rain, check this page for the latest update. Contact Sherri Han via Konstella or email at garden@ps199pta.org for any questions.
